In new version kmenu I can't use alt+left/alt+right/up/down/enter keys to control selection i "Application" section. In other sections 'up/down' work, 'enter' too.
And... where is 'back click' element?
And alt+left ?
Now I must click in 'path', to choice other section
In 11.04 all was better.

I have same problem too.

I am not sure that that arrow keys must work, but it would be nice have such possibility.
Some advanced users like use keyboard than mause.

OS: Kubuntu 11.10.

Are you using the Classic or Kickoff menus?

On picture I see... Kickoff

It appears that your Kickoff menus has no breadcrumb shown, yet has no back selector either. This is extremely weird...

It looks like http://i.imgur.com/AzQpf.png on my system (with the breadcrumb) which runs KDE Trunk.

In picture is kickoff from 11.04, but in 11.10 kickoff is without full set of functions.
Now I have the same kickoff, like you - but I miss for 11.04 functionality.
