How can I change the font size of the digital clock on my panel? Using kde 4.8

The only way I've found is to increase the height of the panel.

The size of all applets in the Plasma Panel is regulated by Plasma itself based on the size policies set by the individual applets. Applets are required by Plasma to take up the entire vertical height of the area they are allocated - so the width is decided from that.

Open Digital Clock Settings > Appearance. Tick Bold.

Have you tried the Ubuntu title fonts? There is also one in bold that works well.
