Steps to reproduce:
  1. Tell Konqueror to visit Mesa.
  2. Tell Konqueror to open the right frame in a new window.

Result:
  • In WebKit mode, error 105 <URL: error:/?error=105&errText=# > :'(
  • In KHTML mode, the new window is blank and the old window is replaced with the right frame. :(

Konqueror: 4.7.2

Sorry, but I was not able to reproduce this using either engine.
Can you provide more detailed steps for reproduction?
Also, have you tried under a new user?

It is possible that this is either a openSUSE specific regression or it has been fixed in Trunk.
I run trunk compiled from Vanilla upstream KDE source code.

yecril71pl,

I can reproduce the problem with Konqueror 4.8.1 while using KHTML rendering engine, getting exactly the actual results you described.

I can reproduce it at my Frameset and frames meta-testcase

I have also unchecked several checkboxes at
Configuration/Configure Konqueror.../General category/Tabbed browsing
- Open links in new tab instead of new window
- Open as tab in existing Konqueror when URL is called externally

I am using Kubuntu 11.10.

This is definitely a Konqueror bug in my opinion.

regards, Gérard
