neither the plasma-widget framus NM frontend nor the netowrk-manager-kde package applet seem to be able to connect to my home network. I'm using Debian's latest KDE release. I'd much rather use KDE than GNOME but the GNOME nm applet works. I'm on an Asus laptop using a 3.0.2 kernel with the iwlwifi firmware mess on an Intel wireless PCI card. Anyone have any advice?

What version of NetworkManager and KDE Network Management do you have installed?

knetworkconf 4:4.4.4
network-manager-kde 1:09~svn1141976-1
network-manager 0.8-1-6+squeeze1

These are the Debian package versions. I assume they must bear some relation to the actual versions. I hope so anyway.

bcooksley - thanks for the clue. I upgraded the packages through Debian backports and it's working now! Thank you so much!
