I was trying to show off the posisbilities of Kopete to my wife and again linux fails me. Not sure if this is KDE or Kubuntu issue, but after adding here yahoo, google and facebook acocunts to kopete (all together close to 1000users) it froze. i tried a restart and again it froze. how to troubleshoot? is there a known bug with any of the services.

If you have the statistics plugin enable then disable it. That plugin is known to cause freezes when there are a lot of contacts, specially if you are using an old Kopete version.

Is the statistic plugin enabled and disabled in Kopete? otherwise i didn't add any plugin but it could be that Kubuntu added it.

The plugin could be enabled by default, and likely was included with Kopete itself when you installed it.
You should be able to disable it in Kopete settings.

No that's not it. It was tunerd off... so now i removed the fabook account and will see if that helps
