Konqueror errors out at bank login

Thu May 17, 2012 2:31 pm
Konqueror Version 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6" - openSuse 11.4

I would like to use Konqueror to log into my bank. Firefox logs in successfully, but when I try with Konqueror I get the following error message, presumably from the bank...

"The cookie contains invalid data. Remove cookies from your system and try to logon again.
error code MESSAGE_BAI001_8003"

Deleting my cookies and trying again produces the same error AND presents me with the same request code (what the bank page expects me to enter in my separate code generating device) as the previous attempt. (With Firefox I get a different request code every attempt). Yes Java scripts are enabled. It looks like the cookie doesn't get deleted. The bank of course doesn't support anything non-Microsoft.

Is there anything I can do about it, or am I stuck with Firefox or another Mozilla based browser? Any advice or suggestion would be welcome.

Hard to say, probably best to make that decision yourself depending on how Konqueror appears to work with the website of your Bank.
