At the beginning I had sabayon only whit Xfce, and with Xfce at the start-up the system show me the window to digit the pin to activate the internet connection. After this step i click on the network icon, in the bar, and select the connection via usb-modem. But Xfce isn't personalizable like KDE, to this i have installed KDE but i have this problem. Then if i use the desktop with Xfce, at the start-up the system show me the window to connect whit the usb-modem, but if i select the KDE desktop i don't see nothing to the connection.

With KDE you probably need to initiate the connection. You should have a network icon of some description sitting in the system tray. If open it (by clicking on it) then open the Network Settings - you should be able to add your Internet provider and open the connection.

Can you please post a screenshot of the icons you do see?
It could be a small red circle with a link through it - as no connection is available as far as it can see.

Images should be posted using an external service such as Imagebin or Imageshack.
