I have access to two SOCKS proxies. In windows I used MyEnTunnel and in Kubuntu the closest thing I have found is gSTM, but a QT/KDE based alternative would be nice.

Thanks but I still don't get how to use this..I set the IP in the SOCKS proxy configuration on that page, then how do I activate it and deactivate it? Shouldn't it ask me for SSH authentication when I hit apply as I have to have an ssh connection to be able to use the SOCKS proxy? I only need the proxy from time to time for short periods.

KDE will only prompt for SOCKS proxy credentials if necessary.
If you are using a SSH SOCKS proxy (ie. ssh -D <port> <username>@<hostname>), then you will need to start the SSH proxy yourself.

In my case it is an SSH SOCKS Proxy but when I put the IP in like it is listed in the pic, it never prompts me for a password. As for using ssh from Konsole, I am looking for some sort of manager or GUI like gSTM that sits in the tray and can be activated from the tray. Then I just use Quick Proxy in firefox to activate or Deactivate the proxy. I am surprised there is nothing like gSTM for KDE.

From what I recall with the "ssh" SOCKS proxy, it does not require a username or password to use it. Other SOCKS proxies may be different though.

Maybe I am interpreting ssh socks proxy wrong. In this case a user can use an app like Putty(although it does not sit in the tray) MyEnTunnel(Windows, sits in tray), or gSTM(GTK based but atleast it is a linux alternative). It establishes a connection to a server via ssh. Then using QuickPrxy toggles the built in Firefox network setting regarding proxies. I have firefox set to match this: http://i27.tinypic.com/2h5l1yq.jpg When quickProxy is off, it switches to No Proxy, and when turning QuickProxy on, it switches to Manual Proxy Configuration. Quick Proxy is just a simple on/off toggle icon that sits in the firefox add on bar btw. When QuickProxy is activated, it then changes my IP address to that of my servers seedbox.

Oh. KDE does not offer an option to turn proxy support on and off easily, you can only turn it on/off by changing the settings on the proxy page.

I am not looking for KDE specifically to turn the proxy on and of, but your welcome to post it in brianstorm if you want. I am simply looking for a native alternative to gSTM or MyEnTunnel. Just a simple gui, that will sit in the system tray and can be toggled on and off. Actually I guess thats trivial on the program side since firefox is capable of doing the toggling.

While I am not aware of a application for this, you can probably create a workaround.
If you can determine which configuration files KDE changes when you change the proxy settings on and off, you can probably setup a script. The application 'kwriteconfig' should prove helpful to you here.
