It happened that I am on KDE 4.6.5 and as it has been for years (at list since KDE 3.5.X), Konqueror still can't open e-mails in Hotmail account. Since this behavior has been around for so long, it seems to be a feature, not a bug . So I'd like to ask if there are any changes in newer versions of KDE - is it possible to read (to read! I can view a list of messages, but can't open a single one) e-mails in Hotmail account? FYI, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Midori do not have any issues with that as far as I know, only Konqueror.
I made a search on the forum and the latest topic is dated 2010...

in Konq do you use webkit or khtml (see view -> view mode) ? I use webkit and emails open fine

Thanks for the tip, but I do not have any options there apart from KHTML and Embedded Text Editor... In Settings/Configure... the only available engine is KHTML too. Maybe they added Webkit support after KDE 4.6.5?
UPD. Made a search and installed KWebKitPart, which allowed me to switch between KHTML and Webkit. Seems to work fine but looks kind of... unusual. But overall it is OK. Thank you. Solved.

you need to find and install kwebkitpart (and its dependencies)
