Hello.
Ever since I switched to KDE I've been experiencing a problem with rekonq which goes more or less like this: Say I log into my Gmail account using rekonq, and then leave it open for a while (usually one or two days, but there have been instances where the problem manifests itself after less than one minute). Then I notice everything on my account refuses to load, and opening Gmail on a new tab fails – but it doesn't time out even after 24 hours. This doesn't happen on other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, and deleting the cookies on rekonq sometimes (temporarily) fixes the problem, so most likely it isn't a connectivity issue. This is what I see on the Network Analyzer when experiencing the bug: Method URL Answer Length Content type Info GET http://www.gmail.com/ 301 Moved 225 text/html; charset=UTF-8 Redirected: http://mail.google.com/mail/ GET http://mail.google.com/mail/ 302 Moved 352 text/html; charset=UTF-8 Redirected: https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogi ... mplcache=2 GET https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogi ... mplcache=2 302 Moved 359 text/html; charset=UTF-8 Redirected: https://mail.google.com/mail/?pli=1&auth=[redacted] GET https://mail.google.com/mail/?pli=1&auth=[redacted] Pending So far Gmail is the only site where I've experienced this problem. How can I prevent this from happening again? |

This could be caused by hanging KIO slaves. Next time this happens, please try closing all GMail tabs and run "killall kio_http".
Do note that if you are running any http(s) based downloads or loading any websites using KDE applications then those will be interrupted when you do this.
