Mobile Broadband option is greyed out

Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:04 am
Hello, I have a Reliance Netconnect+ USB broandband device. But when I connect it to my PC running Kubuntu 12.10, it does not show the checkbox to enable mobile broadband in KNetowrkManager applet. And also in Manage Connections dialogue box, Mobile Broadband tab is greyed out :( . I tried to connect to internet using wvdial, but could not able to connect.
My primary concern is to enable Mobile broadband via KNetworkManager applet. I have ppp daemon installed already.
After long waiting also, Enable Mobile broadband checkbox doesn't show up in KNetworkManager applet.

Try installing usb_modeswitch. There are some instructions in http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/97
