Using Konqueror 4.9.4 with Kubuntu 12.10, I was trying to import Firefox .html bookmarks into Konqueror. Since I use Xmarks, the first step was to export the Xmarks bookmarks to an html file. They looked OK there. But when they were imported into Konqueror, every bookmark's URL began with erroneous characters, like this Tesla Ring site's: http://j.webring.com/hub?ring=teslaring. Each bookmark was fine after I manually replaced the ":" with a colon.

Advice?

This looks like a HTML Entity encoding issue from what I can tell.
Can you please check the content of the HTML file, to see if there are other entities in the file which are being correctly decoded?

Thanks. I just opened the .html bookmark file using LibreOffice and moved the cursor through the list; everything looked fine (no &#58's anywhere). Accepting its invitation to open a link using Ctrl-click immediately opened the page in Rekonq.

Can you try viewing the page in a text editor such as KWrite (which will show the HTML code)?
It should show you the full, entity encoded form of the url.
