behind a proxy and no apt

Tue Jun 11, 2013 3:07 pm
Hi,

I'm behind a proxy, and I have installed and configured ntlmaps.
I have firefox, I can ping adresses, but I can't use APT or Synaptic ...
I have tried to find something like System>network and proxy but nothing ...

Thanks to tell me how I can do ...

1) it would help if you noted what distro you were running
2) you should inquire on your distro's forum why the proxy kcm module is not available or what package you need to install to have it
3) if you're running Kubuntu (or a *buntu derivative) this might help, see section devoted to Apt http://linuxexperimentation.blogspot.co ... buntu.html

Yes,
that true,
I'm working on KXStudio distro, it's a kubuntu derived distribution about music.
Perhaps there is a file in /etc where we can chose to show or not this module ?

per the link provided earlier
To setup apt-get to your proxy environment, create a apt.conf file in your /etc/apt/ folder and specify the proxy like this. As a su or sudoer edit apt.conf file (create one if there isn't)

Acquire::http::Proxy "http://username:password@proxy.xxx.xx:80XX";
