Bluetooth Tethering

Sat Feb 01, 2014 5:52 am
Hey all,

Working on tethering my Nexus 5 to my laptop. It seems it isn't letting it pair with my phone to do anything beyond file sharing (though I haven't even tested that). Here's my process
  1. Go to Bluetooth Device Wizard
  2. Double click device, hit Next
  3. Pin pops up, identical to one showing on phone, select Matches on linux, pair on phone
  4. Service selection shows: Send File; PANU; None
  5. I select PANU
  6. Window pops up titled: Sorry - Network Management
  7. Contents of pop up: We support 'dun' and 'nap' services only

Versions of stuff:
  • Linux Mint 13 KDE
  • KDE 4.8.5
  • bluedevil 1.2.2
  • network manager 0.9.4.0
  • Plasma Network Management 0.9.0.1

Poking around the internet, I seemed to have uncovered the following:

Any help if I'm missing something, or if I need to update anything would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks!

I've checked with the developer of Network Management. The version of Bluedevil which contain(s) the fixes you mention in the bug report is 1.2.4, while you have 1.2.2 installed - so you need to update, ideally to 1.3 or newer.

Not a problem - once you've confirmed those updates as fixing the issue, could you please mark the topic as solved?
