Hi all,
I recently noticed that my internet connection is too slow. I supposed that it was because of my ISP but I tried to switch to a newly created "fresh" user, and it turns out to be that with this fresh user the internet connection works very well. So I guess that this is due to a config for my user. I tried with another browser and it's the same. I did /sbin/ifconfig and the output is the same for both users. I have running the network monitor in my KDE desktop. What I see typically is that with the old (bad functioning) user I have spikes of high bandwidth connection (reaching 300 KB/sec) intermixed with periods of very low bandwidth (<10 KB/sec). This is consistent with what I see when try to see a video or use Skype. There are moments where the system works fine, followed by moments where the connection is very bad. Here there is a capture of my bandwidth When I see the same graph for the new fresh user the curve is almost constant at 300 KB/sec. No spikes. I considered to move all my stuff from the old user to the new fresh user, but the truth is that I have a lot of config in my user so I want to try to keep the old user. I ask for help in finding what files are i charge of netowrk configuration in KDE. I assume that this is in the KDE config, not in the system, because for the new fresh user the network is working well. Specs of my system: Fedora 20 (yum updated few days ago) KDE 4.12.3 TIA, Mario |

Please ignore my post. It was solved simply by cleaning the cache of
firefox and the cookies. I was confused because I had the same problem with Chrome so I discarded a problem related with the browser. |
