Hi everyone here,
I'm new to the forum so please excuse me if my message is not sent to the right place. Context: I have used kubuntu almost exclusively for more than 10 years now. A few years ago I could setup "proxydriver" to automatically change proxy settings when my computer connects to another network. Now i am using kubuntu 15.04, and proxydriver does not function well anymore. What I did: So I looked in there to see that proxydriver uses two commands to configure proxy under kde: * kwriteconfig --file kioslaverc --group 'Proxy Settings' --key NoProxyFor "${kde_ignorelist}" and kwriteconfig with other arguments I gathered this makes changes to ~/.kde/share/config/kioslaverc or ~/.config/kioslaverc * dbus-send --type=signal /KIO/Scheduler org.kde.KIO.Scheduler.reparseSlaveConfiguration string:'' I gathered this sends a signal to all kde apps so they reread kioslaverc and take the changes into account My guess is that the dbus-send command does not work anymore under kubuntu 15.04. Any ideas what to check? Or what command to use? Or any way to set kde proxy using command line or scripts? Might be relevant to know that Yakuake/"about KDE" yields "Platform Version 4.14.6" Thanks, Dimitri |
