I am connected to WiFi on my desktop. I would like to plug one end of an Ethernet chord into my desktop and the other end in my laptop to allow the laptop to access WiFi through my desktop via the Ethernet cable. How could I do this? I remember this was possible on Windows.

I am using KDE 5 on Fedora 22.

iptables/netfilter to forward the packages. i doubt that windows can do that (out of the box, there's 3rd party router stuff)

You can do it out of the box on Windows. It's as simple as going through a couple of dialogs and hitting a checkbox.
