ufw-kde

Wed Feb 15, 2017 7:25 pm
Suppose I would like to install the ufw and a nice "front end" with it.
The obvious choice would seem the package "ufw-kde". But I can't see that it does anything.

I'm using Neon useredition, plasma 5.9.2.

Is it possible to get it running?

In the meanwhile I found the answer to you question.
First you install ufw-kde (the one you can't get to run).
BUT to run it you say in a terminal:

kcmshell4 ufw

and then it will run.

Code: Select all
$ kcmshell4 ufw
The program 'kcmshell4' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt install kde-runtime

Did you have to install kde-runtime?

It also seems that you have to run that command in the terminal anytime changes need to be made. It would of course be better if it showed up in the system "network" settings as it was designed to do.
