Jumping to a new version from an old one usually does not flawlessly. Now a few problems (the most annoying, no possibility to have different background for each desktop is not for this topic):
1./ Feature or bug? It seems the new System Settings page has less options than earlier. I found an interesting feature at Network Settings. My DHCP connection happened correctly, working immediately. However, I do not find detailed setups in the menu. What happens for users having no DHCP, requiring a fixed IP number? The setup procedure does not allow to define an IP number. Or is this only because it recognized my DHCP connection and thus does not offer me else, but people with fixed IP see another configuration window? 2./ Many problems with Kmail, I was using also before. 2a./ I have not managed to import old, archived Kmail folders. New Kmail does not find them. The import tool does not import them from a separate directory, neither. It would be perhaps possible simply copy the folders into the new Kmail directory and hope it recognizes them as part of its own structure. But I do not find the new directories. The old ones were in the ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail. There is no such subdirectory in the new KDE. 2b./ In the new Kmail the user can select if the mail list shows Senders, Receivers or Sender/Receiver option. However, the selection applies to all folders. The Sender/Receiver option shows only sender also in the "sent-mail" folder (which is always me! ) How to change this behavior and see senders for incoming mails, receivers for outgoing ones? 2c./ The mail headers somehow disappeared from the Message window. Also, the "View/Headers" menu is empty. I did not find any control item to make the headers visible. How to make them to appear again? Thanks, John

I don't use KMail for such specific things, but I can say that KMail issues are because of the current KDE Applications, not necessarily KDE Plasma.
Hi, I'm Ivan, a competent computer user (which means geek to most). I run KDE neon Developer when it works and KDE neon User when Developer doesn't work.
Hope I helped you with any problems you may have had |
