i have plasma-nm installed and i would like to change my DNS servers but keep whatever IP address assigned by the DHCP server. i used that plasmoid called network connections. at first i was shown no connections (though i am connected to the internet by wire (cat6)). then i added a new connection. then i proceeded to enter the dns server addresses. dns servers did not change.

Having exactly same "issue". Willing to change DNS servers with some kind of GUI.

Sorry but what is cat 6? To use IPv6 for one's LAN is, well, slightly over the top to put it mildly. If you do please revert back to IPv4.
As for your DNS Server: that is typically your router. Simply right click on your network manager - configure network connections - select your network - IPv4 - input the router's IP address in DNS server. HTH or what is it I'm missing?
