KDE Network settings and DNS server

Sat Sep 23, 2017 5:51 pm
What I need to configure to make the KDE Network settings correctly restore my DNS settings?

Each time I connect to my company VPN I get IP configuration from the VPN server (including 'nameserver').
After disconnect my /etc/resolv.conf is not restored to previous correct value, but to 127.0.0.53. This is wrong.
I disabled, masked systemd-resolved but this not helped.

I found a workaround.

Edit file:
/lib/systemd/system/systemd-resolved.service.d/resolvconf.conf

replace "nameserver 127.0.0.53" with correct DNS:

Code: Select all
[Service]
ExecStartPost=+/bin/sh -c '[ ! -e /run/resolvconf/enable-updates ] || echo "nameserver 127.0.0.53" | /sbin/resolvconf -a systemd-resolved'

For now it works.
