KRDC: Image very slow

Thu Sep 28, 2017 2:05 pm
:) Good evening,

I have a problem with krdc, when I work on my session and have a web page with a scrolling image (slideshow)
I have everything that is slow windows are struggling to respond and also when I type characters take a long time to display. But when I receive an e-mail from my Thunderbird e-mail client, the images sent as an attachment are displayed slowly.

Is this due to a setting on krdc? Or bandwidth? I have an adsl connection of 10MB.

Setting up my raspberry pi 3 on which krdc is installed:

lsb_release -a
Distributor ID: Rasbian
Description: Raspbian GNU / Linux 8.0 (Jessie)
Release: 8.0
Codename: Jessie

Uname -a -mrs
Linux 4.4.50-v7 + # 970 armv7l GNU / Linux

Yes. I've changed to tigervnc and xfreerdpnightly. KRDC is unuseable.

I am using it over LAN for Windows 10 Pro (remoting from Fedora 33)
  • it is slow in any color mode.
  • xfreerdp is fast
  • I can log out and switch between the two RDP programs, and the issue is consistent. I am using 1280x720 in both RDP programs.
Can the developers take a look at this?

did you report this as a bug? If you want the developers to look at, https://bugs.kde.org is the correct place to report this to, not the forum.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
