"+1" for this question, plus an addition:
ctrl-alt-del is just one important key combination which krdc unfortunately does not pass to the remote machine, although "grab keys" is activated. I'm missing also the typical Linux virtual console keys, ctrl-alt-F1, F2 ....,F#. all of them not passed. This is a pity, as I need them when accessing my VPS via VNC. General question, as there are more than 100 UNCO bugs in bugs.kde.org for krdc: Could it be that krdc is abandoned nowadays, could anyone please confirm or correct this impression? It's FOSS, so please don't even think that my question might be blaming anyone, any volunteer, that's NOT my intention why I'm asking. I just want to clarify this, as I'm personally not able to fix or enhance anything for krdc, and if krdc is really abandoned, I would start to search for a FOSS alternative. I know that realVNC as to be expected is doing a good job, technically. But their licensing is IMHO getting more and more restrictive, that's why it is not a preferred alternative for me. |

I wouldn't call it abandoned as they continue shipping it as part of the Applications releases. However, reviewing the changelog on the project it has seen very little activity over the last year or so; so probably it is lacking a maintainer (it works for the most part, but could use someone to go in and fix and/or resolve the bugs that have been reported).

using KRDC 17.12.3 from Kubuntu "bionic"
it is possible to send Ctrl + Alt+ Del direct in KRDC by pressing the keys. However you must bes sure not to use that combination als a global or local shortcut anywhere else. Typical it is used as a global shortcut for kde session manager (ksmserver) to log off |
