What Operating System are you using? You mention Internet Explorer 7 which is many years obsolete, but is also Windows only and doesn't have anything to do with KDE software which runs primarily on Linux.
The answer to your question depends heavily on your Operating System. If you are in fact using Windows, I assume you should be able to use instructions on DNS's web site to set that up and use that site's support channels for further assistance. If you are using a distribution of Linux, I'd suggest asking for assistance in that distro's support forums.

In that case I'd suggest you follow the directions on the familyfriendlydns site for how to set that up on Windows.
I will note that when I tried to go to that site Firefox warned me that the certificate is questionable, so do your due-diligence and verify the site's reliability with other sources and check for malware, etc. before following the directions there. I would alternatively recommend OpenDNS.com which I've set up on our computer at home. OpenDNS is a reputable DNS site that provides "family-friendly" site blocking settings. Here's a how-to guide for getting that set up: https://www.howtogeek.com/79998/protect ... pen-dns-2/

first of all, who the hell uses ie nowadays
nevertheless, if you want to block some websites, there are some solutions. first of all, make sure the kid doesn't google those pictures themselves. If so, it's not surprising that such pictures pop-up frequently. what works for me is a software I found on *link removed by moderator*, definitely good monitoring platform nowadays. It can easily prevent my child from visiting websites with explicit content and even block some strange apps. you can also install some antivirus software that will block inappropriate content - even adblock can deal with that I suppose. |
