Kwallet, wifi & NFS

Wed Feb 26, 2020 4:57 pm
I'm new to KDE (using Kubuntu 19.10 the past few days). I use keepassx for passwords, so my initial reaction to kwallet is that it's more than I would choose to have. But, no problem. It takes me awhile to get used to new things.

However, I mount an NFS share from another box which serves Linux ISO torrents 24x7. I wanted to put the mount in fstab. But, I don't think that will work because I don't get network connectivity until well after the desktop appears, and I supply Kwallet's password.

This isn't a problem. (I can live with mounting it from the command line.). I'm just curious how someone would deal with this if it were a problem? I imagine it would be for someone.

I tried disabling Kwallet in System Settings. But, then I'm prompted every login for the wifi password. I thought disabling Kwallet would cause things to work the way I'm accustomed to (where it all just happens in the background, the wifi password is stored somewhere I'm never concerned with, etc.).

Thanks!
