You need to run KDE Connect on both sides, on the phone AND on the computer, then pair the two. A paired device is part of the trusted network.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

mystiquewolf, I think you may have experienced the same issue as me. This is one of the first search results that came up for me. To make things easier for others who might be looking, I believe the issue is related to this bug: Bug 425381 - Cannot add trusted networks (empty list)

It's noted that this commit may be the fix for it: KDE Connect Android | Commits - 1a247eac - Fix trusted networks on Android 10

So there's a fix that'll go out sometime for it. There's a comment from Sept 11th, 2020 that says "We're planning to do a release soon-ish, but there's no hard date for it".

So we just need to wait for the fix, I think.

After the new release is out, we may need to refresh out settings and re-pair our devices. I think these instructions from a comment on reddit is a good starting point:
In order to enable this feature for myself I did the following:

  1. Unpaired my current kdeconnect connection from my laptop and phone.
  2. Reset the app and its' permissions by clearing 'kdeconnect' storage.
  3. Force close the app.
  4. For those using LineageOS 16, I also disabled privacy guard for 'kdeconnect'
  5. Turn on location services
  6. Reopen the app
  7. Goto "Trusted networks' untick allow all
  8. You will have a prompt near the bottom of the app to add your current WiFi network (Screenshot of the prompt: https://i.imgur.com/pUWDxzi.png)
  9. Re-configure the app, and its' permissions as needed

It seems location services needs to be on in order to retrieve the name of the currently connected WiFi network.
