I have trouble to acces the internet using Fiirefox or konqueror on a PC(old installation from 2007) running kde 3.5 , it gives an error for example if I browse www.google.com : Unknown host. However, same PC which running a webapplication is accessable from the outside in the sme local network, I am a new bee in KDE, what should I look for ?

Sorry, but KDE 3.5 is unmaintained since years, you really should upgrade your installation.
