Hi,
i've got a VPN connection problem via Nework-Mangager tried with KUbuntu 19.10 and 20.04. OpenVPN-Configuration in Server-Side: - LZO compression not set - "compress" set i can't configure my client to get a working connection. "journalctl -u NetworkManager -f " is giving me these errors for this LZO-Settings: - Unchecked: nm-openvpn[22436]: write to TUN/TAP : Invalid argument (code=22) - Adaptive: nm-openvpn[21629]: Bad compression stub decompression header byte: 251 - No: nm-openvpn[22826]: Bad compression stub decompression header byte: 251 - Yes: nm-openvpn[23228]: Bad LZO decompression header byte: 251 I had a go with the openVPN cli client, with seems to have the exact same problem as soon as i remove the "compress" option from the ovpn-file. It seems i have to set this option within NetworkManager, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there any way? Maybe setting it manualle in the /etc/.../...nmconnection File? Thank you, eini |

Got my answer from the NetworkManager maintainer.
This is the Solution: nmcli connection modify "$VPN_PROFILE" -vpn.data 'comp-lzo' +vpn.data 'compress=yes' But the OpenVPN part of the NetworkManager-GUI needs definitely some makeover. "comp-lzo" ist present, but depricated in OpenVPN, "compress" is a valid option, but missing. See https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/w ... n24ManPage. eini |
