Hello. I'm running Arch Linux with KDE Plasma as my desktop environment. I've installed kdeconnect and it's been working great so far except for one issue I'm having with kdeconnect-sms.
When I open the InstantMessager client, I can sync and navigate all my messages just fine, however, when I open a conversation and try to send a message to that person the send button in the bottom right eats the message and doesn't actually send anything. I tried launching kdeconnect-sms from the cli to see if I get anymore useful logging. There are a couple nullpointers which seems like a pretty big red flag but I'm not sure how to go about digging into those more since the kdeconnect-sms executable doesn't have any sort of debug or verbose logging flags.
I also tested sending a message to see if that would give any hints but when I press the "send" button and the message disappears it doesn't generate any logs. Here is my ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals file. I left it default and I don't see anything that seems like it would affect kdeconnect-sms but troubleshooting guide mentions this as a place to check so I'll post it here. More information is probably better:
Other relevant information kdeconnect/kdeconnect-sms versions
I'm pretty fresh to arch so let me know if there is any other useful information I can provide. Thank you! edit - I searched through active bugs and found a couple users reporting the same behavior I was. I didn't find these through searching Google which is why I thought it was an error on my end. Will post relevant bug here for the future. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425731 The fix for that ticket was merged two hours ago on the release branch so not sure when it will be released. |
