I have two desktop with Kubuntu and one smartphone, all are equipped with kdeconnect.
Until Kubuntu 20.04 all devices were paired and each one could see the other.
Since Kubuntu 20.10, desktops can see the smartphone, the smartphone can see both the desktops, but one desktop can't see the other desktop and vice-versa.
I tried to purge kdeconnect, same result.
One curious thing: if I try to search for new devices from one desktop, it seems to find the other one, as for an instant its name shows in the list, but it disappears immediately!

I'm also getting weirdness with my two computers and one phone. In my case, computer A connects fine with the phone. However, I couldn't get computer B to connect with the phone, although it could see computer A fine! I also see the phone temporarily flash up, but cannot connect. Then on the next refresh it disappears.

I eventually got computer B to connect to the phone, but the phone identified computer B's device name as "Computer A"! I also think this disconnected the real computer A, as the phone only had one device connected. I wonder if there are conflicting IDs in both of the computers. Is there a way to check the IDs of the devices and change them if necessary?

Im glad to find this as Im having trouble also.

Im on a fresh install of 20.04, Samsung S9 with Connect
and Im seeing the same issue.

The one thing I can do - oddly - is send a file from
my phone to my computer. It finds it and connects
right away. But, I cant send from the computer to
the phone nor do I have any updates from the phone
showing on the computer.

Connect repeatedly shows no phone connected.
Click on Setting and it says No Device Selected.

From the phone under available devices:
no devices available.

This was all working before where I was seeing
text messages come up on my computer and could
respond but Im having trouble tracking this down.
Bluetooth, wireless, app, computer?

Similar thing here. I can get my PC to connect to my Android phone and Android tablet but I can't get the phone to connect to the tablet, or tablet to phone.

In the end I ditched KDE Connect. My phone battery usually lasts quite long but after setting up KDE Connect it drained from 83% to 36% in a matter of hours without even using the device!

Thank you for that info. I won't persist with it any more then. FWIW I also use MAXS, which isn't perfect and doesn't have the exact same feature set as KDE Connect, but at least connects perfectly and has almost zero impact on battery life. Unfortunately you need an XMPP/Jabber account. I use prosody on my Raspberry Pi server, which was relatively easy to setup. (Easier than KDE Connect anyway! :| )

.. which has only rarely happened since I cant
get it to connect.

I'm afraid this is going off topic...
Is there anyone experiencing my same issue?
I need a clipboard sharing tool between two Ubuntu PCs (both equipped with KDE). I saw some alternatives:

Barrier (https://github.com/debauchee/barrier) - but it doesn't offer bidirectional clipboard sharing, so only one PC can act as server and share its clipboard. Moreover, the sharing is not real-time, as the client is synced every x milliseconds, where x can't be less of 1000.

I thought I did found the perfect tool with KDE Connect, but it has stopped working with Ubuntu 20.10. I filled bugs and asked:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1295440 ... -computers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429690
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1907786

No luck, right now :(

I have been working on this and had the chance to replicate this again.

I have a new ThinkPad with Kubuntu 20.04 installed.
I have a freshly reset Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
I installed Connect on both.
I have bluetooth and wireless turned on.
When I click pair - I can pair the phone to the computer.
For the first two day I was able to see and respond to
incoming texts, respond to emails to an account I have
only on that phone, see alerts from the phone.
The phone was removed from the area of the computer
four different times, losing connection and reconnecting
without issue. Then, after a text came up, after clicking
on that message, the application closed. From that point
forward the phone will not connect to the computer. But,
like my original post, a file can be sent between the two.
Ive been uninstalling on both devices and reinstalling and
still cant get them to reconnect.
