I have a desktop with intel i3 7100 processor and 16 gb RAM. I already have windows 7 operating system runing on a separate HDD. The internet is working good without any issues.
On another HDD I installed Debian Linux with KDE and tried to browse the internet, but just for doing a Google search it is taking time to show the results. I checked with debian forums and there is no issues with drivers and kernel versions. Exhausted with issue on Debian, I installed arch Linux and KDE to check if the issue occurs. Well even on arch Linux I get the same internet problem. I found something odd behaviour with KDE network manager menu in system tray. While the Google search was taking time to load, whenever I clicked the network icon and hovered the mouse on the connection menu it immediately showed data. When I open discover application and tried installing or updating packages it takes long time to load, but when I clicked network icon on tray and hovered my mouse over the connection, package installation or updation immediately works. So basically the internet works only when I click the network icon on system tray and hover the mouse over network connection. I am suffering with this issue from beginning of year 2020. Kindly help to resolve this issue. |

That seems more than weird, did you report this to Debian?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I have reported this issue to both debian and arch Linux and there is no solution so far. The question is when I installed arch Linux it was fetching packages for kde from internet. So internet was working till that point. But why it doesn't work after installing KDE? |

Since you didn't specify your exact Plasma version (nor that you also used Arch, again without any indication about the Plasma version), there is little more than guessing we can do as of now.
What kind of connection do you use (LAN, WiFi)? What are the exact connection specifications in your network manager? Please do NOT give your provider address and password, but literally everything else is needed. Are your Linux installations available as dual boot installations or are those Virtual installations in a box? Are those generic installations or did you make modifications from the default, if yes which ones? Also a link to your bug reports would be useful... Keep in mind that you need to give all this information as a minimum in both bug reports as well as in the forum if you expect any answer to your request.

And the links to the bug reports?

You mean error logs or issue reported to linux distribution forum? If it is error logs the hardware probe link contains error log. |

You said you made a bug report, bug reports have numbers and internet links on both Arch and Debian.

right, that is not a bug report...
anyway, I don't really see the point of discussing this on multiple forums. Since you already have been answered in the Debian forum, let's stay patient and see what comes out of it?

Today the software center showed system updates around 300 plus MB. After updating i am not experiencing the problem anymore. |
