When I transfer large video files from my Android to kubuntu desktop the file is often corrupted when it arrives on my desktop. After setting up KDE Connect, I'm using drag-n-drop in Dolphin.
Looking for 'proper' instructions for transferring larger files or diagnostic help. |

I have a similar problem, in that files I transfer from my phone to my computer become malformed.
I found this out with GPX files: A file I transfer starts out ok:
And then after about 10 pages of trkpt's:
End of the file:
So what happens is that after a few kilobyte of data, the file is started anew, and at the end of the file, it's truncated. The restart happens after exactly byte 32768 or 32 kiB The truncation also happens 32768 bytes before the end of file. The file size of the file on the device (checked on-device with FX file editor) and on my computer after copying are exactly the same (684710 byte) I copied a 3GP file over, and found the exact same when inspecting with a hex editor, after 32KiB the header repeated itself. I have an android phone and an android tablet. This seems to happen only on the phone (On both internal memory and SD), and not on the tablet. Phone: Moto G5 Plus (XT1685) Android 8.1.0 Kernel 3.18.71-perf-g7b625a0 KDE connect 1.16.0 Tablet: Lenovo TB-8504X Android 8.1.0 Kernel 3.18.71 KDE connect 1.14.2 I then (manually) updated my tablet to KDE connect 1.16.0 and ... lo and behold ... it also has the files being reset after 32KiB as above. I use KDEconnect-app v1.0, KDEconnect-cli and -handler v1.4.0 on KDE |
