Hello everyone,

I have to use a VPN to work from home and I'm not able to properly configure the VPN using the network manager GUI.

Currently, I activate my VPN using the following command (which works well, but requires to enter manually my password and prevents the VPN to be activated at startup) :

Code: Select all
sudo openconnect --protocol=gp <gateway URL> -u <username> -b

I tried to use the KDE network manager to configure this connexion to make it automatic, but I don't find where to enter my password, as the only option avaliable seems to be with certificates.

Here is a screenshot of the configuration pannel:

(I just fill the gateway part as I don't have any other information)

And here is a screenshot of the dialog that appears when I try to connect to my wifi network using the VPN:

It asks to provide password for the VPN connexion, but there's no field to enter it, and I'm stuck here.

Does anyone know where to enter my password for this connexion ?

Thanks !

What happens if you enter the password in that dialog box?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

That's my problem : there's no place in the dialog box to enter my password.

IIUC you are still in the Network Manager setup, the password dialog is likely a pop-up once these configuration steps are done.

If all things fail: you should be able to connect using the Palo Alto client: https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/globa ... linux.html

In any case, please file a bug report https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?prod ... nt=general

I think you are talking about the popup I provide a screenshot in the second image link of my post (that appears when I try to connect to a VPN a configured in the first screenshot). As you can see, there is no place where to enter a password.

As stated in my post, I already can use the VPN by running openconnect in the CLI. My goal here is to make it work with the KDE networ manager.

I don't feel confident filing a bug report for this if it's just a misconfiguration issue.

I forgot to provide informations about my system :
Plasma 5.21.3, KDE Frameworks 5.80.0, Qt 5.15.2 on Archlinux kernel 5.11.6-arch1-1.

Thank you for your question. In order to configure your VPN connection with the KDE network manager, you will need to generate a certificate and install it on your system. Once you have done this, you can connect to your VPN automatically at startup.
