I am trying to use KDE Connect SMS, but it does not even load any SMS.
I only get the message "Loading messages from device. ..." forever. No message is ever loaded and I cannot see any message giving a hint, Is there something I can do to troubleshoot this problem? |

Is your phone locked? It takers a long time sometimes, even after unlocking.

Hello,
I'm seeing the same problem, no messages are ever loaded from my phone into the computer. I've actually tried from three different computers, each running KDE Neon, and with two different phones, both Huawei (P Smart Z (STK-LX1) and P10 Lite (?, RNE-L21)). I've observed that the phone's network speed monitor seems to hit a few KB/s in the first three seconds after launching the KDE Connect's SMS list desktop app, but then falls to the regular tens-of-bytes-per-second afterwards, without any change in the desktop app. Is there anyhow I can help troubleshoot this problem myself? I'm a C++ coder with moderate knowledge of TCPIP networking, I'm just a Linux newbie with no idea where to look. Is there any log I could see, some logging I could enable or any such thing? |

Same issue on a huawei Mate SE, I'm guessing this is just a problem with huawei phones.

Hi, I have the same problem with a Huawei P20 lite. It's been "loading conversations from device" for 1 hour.

This is the closest to my issue, so I’m continuing this thread instead of starting a new one.
Note: I am using KDE Connect on an XFCE edition of Manjaro. So, I am not using Plasma, just the KDE Connect suite within this other environment. However, I don’t believe that is the cause of my problem. When a new message comes in, I always get a popup with a box to reply. So, the connection part is working. However, trying to open up the window (is this the same as the plasmoid?) to see and look through my messages takes a very long time to load conversations, if they load at all. By this, I mean it can take several minutes. I think this may have to do with the large number of conversations and messages it is loading. My phone has a long history. I think suspect the app is trying to load all the messages from my phone’s history. If there were a way to indicate a maximum number of conversations and/or messages to load I think this would make the functionality snappier. Is there already a way to do this or could it be added into the functionality? |

Dear all,
I solved this problem from my phone parameters -> settings -> applications -> authorisations -> and i give to kde connect the authorisation to access to SMS, contacts... |
