Hi everybody,
I'm new in Linux world and l'm having an issue sharing a folder. I'm working with a Kubuntu 21.10, I have installed net tools and samba. I have shared a folder and I can access here with other Windows PC, but I'm not able to execute an ".exe" file which is inside this folder, Windows give me a message that I haven't got enough permissions. Windows version is 10 Pro 21H2 and I already activated samba protocol. Does anybody know why is it? Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for my english. |

You can't execute a file in a shared folder, copy it to a local folder first. That is a simple security issue, nothing wrong with Kubuntu.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
