Hi This is my first forum post. Let me introduce myself, my name is Robert Gorajski from Poland. Hello everyone
My adventure with Linux started with Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. Yes ! I remember the days when Cannonical shipped free CDROMs Until today I have used many other distributions but their common denominator, be it Debian, Fedora, Arch, is the Gnome desktop or i3wm. However, I have been looking at KDE Plasma for a while now. Yesterday, I installed OpenSuse Leap with the KDE Plasma desktop on my second test machine. And I have a hard time finding QT software that is equivalent to GTK programs. One of such programs is Remmina (https://remmina.org/). I use it to connect remotely to the company I work for. In my case, the connection is established by downloading the * .rdp file (Windows Remote Desktop Connection Settings file) from my employer's Internet portal. Then, using Remmina and the downloaded file, I set up a remote RDP connection to the Windows computer in the company. I got acquainted with the software https://apps.kde.org/ and thought KRDC would solve my problem. Unfortunately, this is not the case with KRDC - it requires a remote desktop address and does not "understand" the .rdp file. Of course, I can still use Remmina - but it's not elegant. My question - is there a program equivalent to Remmina but QT that will be able to connect me to a remote computer in the company using the * .rdp file? Sorry my first post is so long but I'm looking for help on this. Thank you in advance for any help. Kind regards. Robert |

Hi,
To share a desktop with a KDE software you have KRFB https://apps.kde.org/en-gb/krfb/ To remote a desktop with a KDE software you have KRDC (Remmina equivalent) The rdp is possible, look in Settings, Configure KRDC. https://apps.kde.org/en-gb/krdc/ I use both software since years with success. |
