Hi all!
Firs, sorry for my english. I've been using kopete 060.81 and amarok 2, but I can't show the music i'm listening on kopete. What I have to do? THanks!

In Kopete, goto Settings -> Configure -> Plugins and enable "Now Listening" plugin. Open now listening settings by clicking on icon. Click on "Advertising Mode" tab and select Show the music you are listening to in place of your status message.
That would suffice and your media information should show up. |

Thanx for your explanation, but I did it and isn´t work.
Dont have the option "Amarok 2", just Amarok (1). I think it´s a problem relationed with the sound plataform. KDE 4 use PHONON.

Amarok 2 was released after KDE 4.1, which Kopete 0.60.3 was shipped with.
I am building the kdenetwork module at the moment from SVN trunk, and will post here if Amarok 2 is an available option there.

I have Kopete 0.60.81 and Amarok 2.0, and I have an amarok 2 option:
EDIT: @OP Do you have both amarok and amarok-kde4 installed? In that case, try removing package amarok:

No, that is what I have.
Try not using "Use specified media player" and see if the command /media sends the media info. |

I have a similar problem. The /media command works for me but "Show the music you are listening to in place of your status message" or "Append to your status message" do not work, that is, these options do not work only with Jabber accounts (GTalk and KDETalk.net), as opposed to Yahoo, where the status changes accordingly. I've tried every combination I could think of, except compiling, should I try this as well?
I'm using Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.1.96 (RC1), and Kopete is 0.60.82, "Now Listening" plugin version: 0.8.0. |

If your Yahoo status is updated with the currently playing song, but the Jabber status is not, then this is a bug in the Now Listening plugin.

Thanks. Now I see that it has been reported already on a few occasions, the closest one being this one here [Bug 171003: now listening plugin google talk jabber status].
