I don't like dolphin at all. It doesn't fit my work style like konqueror file browser does. And since it seems that all the main distros (I use OpenSuSE at work (work is mandatory OpenSuSE) and home) are forcing KDE 4 and dropping support for KDE 3.5 (shame in my opinion) I am finding KDE 4 to be short in user friendliness and flexibility like KDE 3.5.
An example is at work I will have konqueror file browser open with 10 tabs, each tab linked to a different server or partition on either of my local machines. I use this a lot to perform my job and I am finding that Dolphin falls way short since it doesn't have half the features of konqueror and doesn't do tabs. How do I make konqueror my default file manager in KDE 4? And can I opt to not install dolphin? |

Start System Settings. Advanced tab, File assocations. Change the order of inode/directory, make sure that konqueror is the topmost.

If the problem is resolved, can you please add a [SOLVED] to the thread title? Thanks.

Erm... yes it does. Just thought I'd say that.

Dolphin does tabs. Open any dolphin window and press Ctrl+T |

No such entry on my system, and no way to add a new entry in Default Applications. But changing inode/directory in File Associations worked for me in the past (now I'm getting used to Dolphin so I've changed it back),
