Hi! I'm a Gentoo user, running the Sabayon Linux distro. I just recently installed KDE 4.1 on my laptop, and I can't seem to get knetworkmanager to run as user. I get
and
It runs as root though. Any idea how to get knetworkmanager to run as user? It'd be awful helpful. Thanks! |

Could you check for a damaged or non user owned KNetworkManager configuration file under $KDEHOME? ( ~/.kde normally, configuration file will be under share/config, called knetworkmanagerrc )

~/.kde3.5/share/config/knetworkmanagerrc:
where ***** is my password. ~/.kde points to ~/.kde3.5, and there is no knetworkmanagerrc located within ~/.kde4.1 Any ideas? Knetworkmanager works just fine in kde 3.5. |

Try creating a wrapper script to change environment variables temporarily for knetworkmanager.
