Is there a way to make the terminal view in Konqueror follow along a you navigate the file system? This was the behavior in KDE 3. I like having the terminal as part of my File Management profile, but it is not very useful if I have to type in the path to a dir where I'm going to build a program.

Mhh, I only know that Dolphin is doing this. I think Konqueror should too, but well it checked it isn't.

if there is no wish report for it yet on bugs.kde.org create one. (I think it could even seen as a bug)
