I do not know if Kopete's implementation of the MSN protocol supports Video Chat yet. You will probably need to ask the Kopete developers about this feature.

sorry to revive this topic, I'm using kopete 0.80.2 (part of kde 4.3.2) with a v4l2 webcam (webcam is configured within settings and testing it works) but when I try to start webcam chat via msn with another contact I have no way to do that (try the manual's way didn't work because I have no such option).

It appears the video chat capabilities are still not available in Kopete at this time.

Unfortunately I do not know the details of these plans. You would need to contact the Kopete developers for more information.

> Does anyone know if video chat works for Yahoo protocol?
I used to video-chat with kopete a lot on yahoo, but I can't get it to work when yahoo made that change to their protocol a few months back. I just made a big upgrade to my dist (Fedora 11), and now I seem to have some driver issue: cam works fine with ekiga, but kopete get a screen with a bunch of colored horizontal lines. In the past with each new dist of Fedora, I've had to compile some driver by hand (I have a logitech 5000 cam), though come to think of it, maybe the uvc driver ("native") was working with Fedora 10. Alex $ kopete -v Qt: 4.5.3 KDE: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2) Kopete: 0.80.2 PS: (2nd edit in 10 minutes ) And now my cam (Logitech quickcam 5000) is working fine with the UVC driver--go figure. I'll find a friend and see if yahoo video works. |
