I am having trouble after a recent messing around with the system. I did so many things I don't even know which one is causing the trouble. Flash video has never actually worked correctly with my konqueror. It works most of the time, but sometimes it leaves a blank or black occupied space. I need to refresh the page. So first, I updated my system from the repository. It didn't change anything. So I decided to install the 64 bit beta plugin from Adobe Labs. I followed the instruction and put the file into the .mozilla/plugin folder, but konqueror was not finding it. I tried changing the folder locations, adding it to konqueror's search list, and even restarting the system. Nothing worked!! Now even installing from the repository is not working either. Konqueror is just not finding the plugin. Does anyone know what the problem? Thanks in advance!

Have you rerun "Locate Plugins" in Konqueror > Configure Konqueror > Web Browsing > Plugins?

Yes! and it gives me no result. I am very sure set the folder. Maybe I will run konqueror from koncole and see what it gives me.

At konsole, type in:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-restricted-extras

That metapackage should contain "flashplugin-nonfree" and other needed packages. You may choose to install the flash package only otherwise.

That still hasn't done it. I am looking right at the folder where libflashplayer.so is, but konqueror just doesn't scan it. Thanks for all the suggestions though. :-)

I fixed it! and it's sort of my fault, too. I forgot to remove the nswrapper, so after I did that, 64-bit flash is now in full action! Thanks guys!

Instead of editing the title, you can simply hit the "It's Solved" button to tag the thread as solved. :)
