As I mentioned before I also opened same discussion on Kubuntu forums and one user got very strange results with Konqueror and YouTube:
It's even weirder! I've tested quite a few videos and situations on YouTube, and I've noticed that the Flash plugin sometimes loads and sometimes not... I'm having a really hard time to isolate the problem. At first, I thought some specific videos worked and some not, but I got to a point where the same video would work in a situation, but wouldn't work in another one. I also thought that opening several tabs in the same Konqueror window (with different videos on each one) would force the driver to load, but the test results were inconsistent again. I suspected at one point that the extra part of the URL helped (for example, &feature=channel), but this was not the case all the times... I also launched Konqueror from the command line to see if the text output would be different in cases where the video worked, but I found no significant difference. I just know that the plugin will eventually work if you try clicking on several videos (for example, browsing through the related videos). I'm not sure this makes any difference, but I'm accessing the Brazilian version of YouTube (I'm automatically redirected because I'm in Brazil). Other than that, my system is pretty much what you'd expect: Kubuntu 8.10 + KDE 4.2.0 + Konqueror 4.2.0 + Adobe Flash Plugin 10.0.22.87. Tiago
I can't reproduce the same thing.

OK if anyone is interested...
As you can see I changed distro from Kubuntu to Arch and now Konqueror sometimes plays and sometimes doesn't play YouTube.. So it's similar to what I quoted in tiagobt post.

Arch should definitely have a working, up-to-date KMPlayer. Yeah, it won't play CNN, but at least it will work with most sites and not work on a few others consistently! :P

No that doesn't do the trick either...
But that might be because of Qt4.5... Before it semi-worked, now it doesn't at all. I'll sit and wait and use Firefox in mean time

Hey guys, I had some other issues and had to delete my .kde4 folder (well renamed it anyway). And now Konq works with youtube. I think one of the updates might have corrupted a file or multiple files, and renaming and starting over reset everything.
Create a new user and see if that works. If the new user has access to a working youtube (and flash) in Konq, then try renaming your .kde4 folder. This will take your username back to a default setting. You WILL have to re-do all your customizing. I did find that my mail folders could be copied back to the new folder, there are probably some others that can be copied back into the new .kde4 folder.

hmm with konqueror flash 10 64 bit seems to be an on and off light switch, i had to click refresh at least 20 times to get this video to load up properly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tryrcLHjOtc i find konqueror way to fragile, and its why i have opera on the bottom bar, it seems like with screwing up order it is konqueror, firefox, then opera (best, firefox and konqueror i will be browsing in a different tab and when i hit enter i break the youtube video, opera doesn't do things like that) i mean konqueror is just weird, it can load www.alienware.com and gamespot fine, but then it can't even do aol (a homepage website!) or tiny pic, i honestly think apple took what they needed from kde and then left kde in the dust with poor khtml, and with IE8 beating firefox and chrome in speed testing, who is left? Opera (presto) and Safari, and opera is the only one of the 2 for linux so opera is my favorite, and although the opera team is putting in a lot of effort and are taking linux version seriously now from 9.5 and on (and firefox mozilla team treating linux 2nd class citizen) i don't want to see konqueror in the dust, i am trying to live with it but i can't.Konqueror in peacekeeper beat opera and firefox, and loading through pages of www.mandriva.com or www.kde.com or google searches it shows its speed, but the minute you load AOL, youtube, gamespot, pcworld, alienware, and a lot of the web will either get major issues or a major slowdown, it is not consistent and then all the sudden konqueror will freeze and not load anything for a while then it will go again.Konqueror by far intergrates the best with mandriva, the la ora bars, menus, all intergrate perfect, the fonts and interface are rendered perfect and clear and so with pictures, which firefox and opera (getting better with opera but not there yet ) have bad AA (too many jigged lines) i really hope KDE gets konqueror serious work (although im on 4.1 i have no clue what 4.2 is like but im sure by this thread konq has not gotten better,So kde, please offer something on the plate or switch to webkit.

Hi Guys,
I am using KDE 3.5 on Sabayon-Gentoo, so I too don't have Flash running in my Konqueror. However Epiphany works with Youtube and BBC. It's much faster than Firefox wich has become the slowest web browser in the world . Still Epiphany lacks a lot of things Firefox has. I know we all like Konqueror because of the combination of file managing and web browsing, too sad these sometimes hardly work together. Regards, Richard.

Well for me since KDE4.2.2 YouTube in Konqueror works. Both in KHTML and WebKit.
Well both BBC and CNN players work, but GMail full version only works in WebKit, but it crashes the browser if you try to close the tab. This is the only thing that it still bothers me at newest Konqueror. Hope that someday KHTML will be able to render the whole GMail page correctly without any "arcane" identification settings and workarounds etc. Then it will truly be one of the best browser to-date. Couldn't Konqueror just pretend to be a Safari/WebKit based browser. As I said WebKit has no problems (other than crashing Konqueror) displaying GMail.

As of this date/time I have Firefox 13 installed alongside Konqueror 4.4.5. The flash plugin is in the Debian 6 (for Debian systems) contrib non-free repository (DFSG -compatible Software with Non-Free Dependencies). The package "flashplugin-nonfree 1:22.8.2 Adobe Flash Player - browser plugin" is working in Firefox13 but not in Konqueror Download the the package with Apt, Aptitude, or Synaptic for installation. I just switch between browsers.. Download the browser from Mozilla, and unpack it in a new folder in your Home directory, and navigate to the executable to run. When Firefox opens a flash file on youtube, it renders fine with audio (on my hardware; an i686 triple core with an Nvidia graphics card)).Thanks and Happy Computing.

Is Konqueror loading flash? If it does not seem to be, try rebuilding the list of known plugins. Open Konqueror > Settings > Configure Konqueror > Web Browsing > Plugins > Plugins. Press "Scan for plugins".
I will add that it works fine for me.
