At this time manually specifying the Encoding used by the ftp KIO slave does not appear to be possible. It should be using Utf8, which is compatible with most file encodings.

But it's not working. I see strange chars instead and I can't enter directories or download files wich do not have asci letters. I think that ftp server is useing one of central europe>polish encodings.

Does this also affect other FTP clients ( FileZilla, Firefox, etc )?

In Firefox fles and directories names are correct but I get error when trying to download file or enter directory with non asci char in name. When I use wget -r I can download everything.

This would be an encoding problem in the KIO slave then. Please file a bug if one does not already exist at bugs.kde.org
