I am using Konqueror 4.2.1 on Kubuntu 8.10. I connect to the internet through a proxy.
The problem is that I am unable to login to Digg through Konqueror. When I click the login button at the top of the page, I get a pop up saying this; ERROR: Resource exhaustion trying to perform regexp match. The pop up box should actually contain the username and password fields as it has the characteristic Digg border. Digg works fine in Firefox and Opera. Can anyone tell me how I can get Konqueror to work with Digg?

This is likely a bug in KHTML, the underlying rendering engine in Konqueror. Please search for and file a bug at bugs.kde.org if one does not already exist.

Has anyone else been able to reproduce this error? Then only it can be classified as a bug right?

I get that too. (This is KDE bug 177051, as it turns out).

Am I supposed to mark this thread as solved now as someone has filed a bug report for this bug?

Yeah, probably. There isn't any workaround for the bug that I can think of...

Is there any chance that this will be fixed if Konqueror uses the WebKit engine? And can anyone tell me what exactly the error message means?

You could try using the Arora browser, which is what I use. It is based on Qt 4, and uses Webkit.
