Dear all,
I have KDE 4.2.2 installed in my laptop running openSUSE 11.1. I use network manager to connect to my office network. Recently I read that there is a Network Manager client for KDE 4, so I decided to give it a try. Turns out, it did not work well. NetworkManager client for KDE4 only recognize auto eth0 in my wired connection. I have made a new configuration, but it kept using the auto eth0 configuration. At the moment, I can use KNetworkManager, but I still curious about where NetworkManager client for KDE 4 store network configuration. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance P.S: This is my first post, so I just want to say Hi to all KDE users here |

I am having the same issue in openSUSE 11.1. When I request to connect to my home wireless network, it prompts me for the key. However, even though the right key is entered, the connection fails. This works for KDE3 networkmanager, though!

I can tell you that I have the same problem aswell, for me it seems random.
I haven't had the time to investigate it further but I can get it to work by manually setting the ESSID from command line
And after that try to connect with networkmanager-kde4. |

I believe Knetworkmanager is still quite buggy. I recommend using wicd. KDE 4.3 will get a Solid backend for widget, so it should operate seamlessly with KDE.

Hi I' m not an such an expert but these kind of setup are for Linux it self and not for KDE or any windows system, so I assume that unless it has all redirects links all this configuration can be easily find on /etc/ Most of this programs for example edit file like: /etc/resolv.conf Example: when you see something like: #File genarated by network manager nameserver XXXXXXXXXX nameserver XXXXXXXXXX I hope it helped a bit cya man |
