Video-chat with UVC-Camera

Sun Apr 26, 2009 1:31 pm
hi everyone,

I'm struggling to find a reliable video-chat solution for Linux.

I've tried with Kopete (0.70.2 / KDE 4.2.2-114), but all I see are horizontal green lines. With Skype it works but very unstable and I have to restart the video transmition each couple of minutes.

Which program / protocol do you use for video-chat? does it work well?

thx!

try running kopete like this LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete, this will make kopete run the v4l1 compatibility lib, first make sure that you have it
