http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=110594 just thought to spread my happy story here, as usually kde team must get a lot of complaints, but not too many compliments.

Out of curiosity I ran the Peacekeeper tests too in KDE 4.2.3 on FreeBSD-7.0:
* my main browser Konqueror got 403 points * my alternative browser Opera 9.64 (through linux emulation) got 570 * Firefox 3.0.6 (which just happens to be installed) got 490 It should be noted that Konqueror had been running a lot longer though.. and it had 2 open tabs and one of them was making page-reload (fairly slight though) regularly.

Yesterday I removed my Firefox 3.0.6 and installed 3.5beta4 (from source).
Firefox 3.5beta4 got only 367 points.. I also noticed that while Konqueror was running the tests, I didn't even notice it while using the rest of KDE, but when Opera or Firefox ran the tests, it felt like my computer was doing some very-very heavy compiling, ie. they were using all the CPU. |
