No Skype support for Kopete?

Sat May 09, 2009 4:21 am
IIRC I had seen Skype support listed in the feature plan for either KDE 4.2.x or 4.3, but now it seems to have been removed.

Am I mistaken or is Skype support delayed or cancelled for Kopete, or was it never planned in the first place, would anyone know?

A Skype plugin for Kopete (KDE4) already exists but only in the trunk. It's still beta software but I have it and it works for me.

will there be a no-wrapper plugin? it's really silly to have to have skype running in background as it isn't possible to completely disable it's notifications

I managed to disable all notifications.

The problem ist, that skype is a closed protocol. So no other client then the original skype client exists. But you are write, I also hate that I have to run skype in background :-(
