How do you normally connect to the internet from the machine in question? Wireless / Wired / DSL / Dialup / Other? Also please provide the output of the following command:
Please also ensure that any equipment related to connecting ( such as a wireless router ) is operational ( ie. it hasn't frozen )

Wow, that is a similar question to "My car doesn't start, can you make it move?" or "This cake tastes boring, can you make it taste nice?" We really need more info: how do you attempt to connect? What steps have you taken so far? Are you behind a router or a modem? Are you on broadband or on analogue? You get the gist
